About OIE

MSU is committed to creating and maintaining an inclusive community in which students, faculty, and staff can work together in an atmosphere free from all forms of discrimination. MSU is strongly opposed to discrimination and harassment, and such behavior is prohibited by University policy.

The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) reviews concerns related to discrimination and harassment based on age, color, gender, gender identity, disability status, height, marital status, national origin, political persuasion, race, religion, sexual orientation, veteran status, and weight under the University Anti-Discrimination Policy (ADP) and Policy on Relationship Violence and Sexual Misconduct (RVSM).

OIE accepts calls, emails, and walk-in reports regarding any matters related to discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, relationship violence, and stalking. OIE staff can help you file a report, investigate your report, connect you with resources, and provide training for your group or unit on the policies.

OIE investigations of harassment and discrimination are performed by our staff of investigators, as well as through our external investigative partners which include Kroll, INCompliance, and Miller Canfield.
